Curious which supplements your dog needs?
Try Healthy Dog ToolFrequently Asked Questions
Are there any side effects when taking a mineral supplement?
A gentle detox is expected when starting mineral supplements. It is not uncommon for dogs to experience mild digestive upset or other detoxifying symptoms such as skin or ear issues, within the first few days. These reactions are perfectly normal and to be expected. They will usually disappear within a few days as the body rids itself of some of the harmful toxins and starts absorbing the minerals effectively.
Is the calcium percentage in the product enough if my dog cannot eat bones?
We have found that dogs who are on GreenMin, and are not consuming any bone in their diet, consistently have results within normal ranges for calcium levels on their HairQ Tests.
We are confident that if your dog is receiving the recommended dosage for GreenMin on a daily basis, they will have enough calcium, regardless of whether or not they consume bone in their diet
How do I know if my dog is lacking in minerals?
One easy way to know if your dog is missing minerals is through hair testing such as a HairQ Test.
When minerals are missing, the kidneys automatically reduce the water volume in the body. This leads to dehydration, disease and premature aging.
When we look at HairQ test results, they are very different for dogs that do not get essential plant-based minerals and those who do. It is shocking to see that pretty much every dog not receiving supplements is severely depleted in nutrients. These dogs appear to age faster and become more stiff, immobile and sick as a consequence of this depletion.
Are my dog and I not getting enough minerals from our diets?
In a perfect world, a wide variety of food would keep your dog's body nourished and no supplements would be required. Sadly, most of the nutrient cycles in nature have been disturbed by the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. However, the biggest issue is that industrial agriculture does not return food remnants and manure back into the soil, which leads to further soil depletion.
What age should minerals be added to a dog's diet?
While every age category will benefit, puppies and senior animals are especially prone to deficiencies that can cause growth and development abnormalities and a shortened lifespan. GreenMin is safe for all ages.
