A gentle detox is expected when starting mineral supplements.  It is not uncommon for dogs to experience mild digestive upset or other detoxifying symptoms such as skin or ear issues, within the first few days. In a perfect world, a wide variety of food would keep your dog's body nourished and no supplements would be required.
