Can the FleaHex and TickHex products be used on cats or other animals?
As a company, we have focused on products and holistic healing for dogs. FleaHex® has been proven effective and safe in dogs. It has not been tested on cats and other animals and for now, such use is not recommended.
FleaHex and TickHex products are safe to use in a home with cats, but it is not recommended to use it directly on cats as they can be very sensitive to essential oils.
If using the spray products on your dog, we recommend applying the products outside away from any area your cats frequent waiting until the product is dry before your cat interacts with your pup.
Dog lovers with cats in the home find it helpful to do this step before taking their pup out for a walk.
Can TickHex be used on humans?
While the product was specifically formulated for dogs, there is nothing toxic within the products that would be harmful to humans.
We know of some dog lovers that use it on themselves and children also as a mosquito repellent and feel they have had success keeping them at bay.
While we cannot guarantee it for this use as it was formulated for ticks, it is an added bonus if it is working for them.
Is it safe if my dog licks its fur after application of FleaHex or TickHex?
The quantities ingested through licking and grooming are very minimal and are not known to cause side effects. We recommend applying the spray just before a walk if possible so the dog isn't so interested in licking directly after application.
Is there anything I can do along with the FleaHex products to enhance the success?
Fleas are ectoparasites, which means that they live on the skin's surface, similar to lice or ticks. As a holistic veterinarian, Dr. Dobias has seen a marked decline in the overall flea infestation of his patients after they switch to a balanced raw diet and essential natural supplements.
A good diet is the fuel for your dog's body, but it would be a mistake to think that a raw diet alone can prevent fleas completely. It happens less often, but it still happens!
FleaHex and TickHex Precautions
If your dog is allergic or sensitive to essential oils, please note that FleaHex contains a blend of essential oils so it may not be the right choice for your dog. Please avoid getting the product in or near the eyes.
