Last month, I shared the first conversation in a new series called Get To Know Your Vet, and sat down with Dr. Judy Morgan.
I had the idea for this series when I was presenting in the U.S. and Europe last year. and finally met some of my colleagues, veterinarians, and healers whom I’d only met online up to that point.
It was so much fun meeting these amazing colleagues in real life.
If you’ve ever met an online friend “in real life”, then you might agree that you can learn a lot about someone through email and Zoom calls…
But you really begin to understand who they are when you meet them and have a conversation face-to-face.
And this is how the idea of “Get To Know Your Vet” was born.
The holistic health community is more like a big family, and I thought that stepping away from lectures and protocols for a moment and have a candid and honest conversations could be something you might enjoy.
You deserve to get to know your vets!
For the next episode of Get To Know Your Vet, I sat down with an inspiring colleague and friend, a board certified rehabilitation and sport medicine specialist, Dr. Laurie McCauley.
I appreciate Dr. Laurie for her knowledge, experience and skills, but also for how she thinks.
Like me, she’s deeply curious. She questions assumptions. She’s not interested in doing things “because that’s how it’s always been done.”
And she brings a rare mix of attention to detail, open-mindedness, and honesty to her work and life.
In our conversation, we talk about far more than rehab and healing.
We talk about the career crossroads that shaped her path.
How Dr. Laurie approaches problem solving (you’ll like this if you’ve ever dealt with a challenge that you felt didn’t have a solution yet.)
Why Dr. Laurie believes it’s important to be honest with people… even when it’s uncomfortable.
Why integrity matters more than making an impression.
And because this conversation literally goes everywhere, there are also pigs, acupuncture needles, and a few unexpected animal stories along the way.
