    Go With Your Gut Sense

    By Dr. Peter Dobias, DVM

Dr. Peter Dobias, DVM has 30 years of experience as a veterinarian. His love of dogs and passion for natural healing and nutrition led him to writing, teaching and helping people create health naturally, without drugs, chemicals and processed food.

    Essential Nutrients for Dogs

Lately, I have been receiving many questions about GutSense®, our dairy-free, canine-species specific probiotic for dogs and today I would love to give you the answers:

    Why are probiotics needed?

This is a question that comes up often and here are the top three reasons:

    1. Probiotics help to balance digestion, keep the gut healthy and reduce the likelihood of allergies and leaky gut.
    2. Maintain a healthy and balanced intestinal flora in order to protect your dog against pathogens.
    3. Strengthen the immune system function as approximately 80% of the immune system function is closely connected with the gut; from infections to fighting cancer cells, the gut plays an important role!

What is the difference between human and canine probiotics?

Dogs and humans have evolved side-by-side but they are still quite different when it comes to their digestive tracts and dietary habits. We have studied their original environments such as the soils of the African savanna and consulted with top experts in the field of probiotics and microbiology to come up with a combination that reflects healthy bacterial flora of canines. Some of you may know that I have taken GreenMin®, SoulFood® and FeelGood Omega® myself, but when it comes to GutSense®, I leave it for the dogs and take human based probiotics. Human flora is simply different.

    Is GutSense® derived from feces?

This is an excellent question as we live in the era of fecal implant popularity. I believe that in some cases, fecal implants are beneficial in restoring bacterial flora. However, fecal implants can also include potential pathogens and it is in my opinion not optimal for long term administration. When it comes to long term probiotic preventive care, I have seen the best results with probiotics grown in a strictly controlled environment and containing the most beneficial bacteria for dogs. When it comes to GutSense®, it is tested in the lab several times for quality assurance and purity before it gets to your pup.

How is GutSense® different from other probiotics?

Besides GutSense® being formulated specifically for dogs, it also contains other components to aid digestive tract balance and detoxification. We have included certified organic cilantro that is known to aid heavy metal detox, certified organic ginger to support digestion, and certified organic dandelion leaf to improve digestion, reduce flatulence, and as part of cancer prevention.

GutSense® is produced using a proprietary Italian manufacturing process licensed to our manufacturing facility in the USA. GutSense® is also made using only carefully sourced, organic, top-quality, human grade ingredients that are tested several times to meet the highest quality of standards.

Why doesn’t GutSense® include digestive enzymes?

This was very much a conscious decision as our goal is to help the body build strong digestion without replacing its own digestive capacity by artificial digestive enzymes. To say this, digestive enzymes can help in some cases, however, ideally they should be separate from probiotics. When digestive enzymes and probiotics are mixed together in one capsule, the probiotic bacteria may be damaged ("digested") by the presence of digestive enzymes which will lower probiotic efficacy.

    Can you overdose on probiotics?

    The simple answer is no.

However, we have suggested an optimal dose based on the body weight of your dog. Every gram of GutSense® contains 10.1 billion CFU (colony forming units of beneficial bacteria) which is one of the highest concentrations on the market.

Why is the price higher than some other probiotics?

When it comes to manufacturing high-quality products, we never cut corners and our goal is not to flood the market with cheap products made with synthetic, low quality ingredients. When making our products, we focus on ingredient quality, clinical results and providing you with five star customer service.

All of our products are currently made in either the USA, Canada or Norway. They are not the cheapest countries to manufacture in, but we know that top quality control can be achieved and that is our priority.

We know how much your dog means to you because we are dog lovers too!

Will GutSense® work for your dog?

We certainly hope so as it has worked well for thousands of other dogs. If you are interested, read the reviews for GutSense® and see why it holds a 4.9 out of 5 star rating.

Despite the positive results, no product works for every dog and this is why GutSense® comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

There is nothing better for a dog lover than a perfect No.2! 🐕 😁
