Empowering Dog Lovers with Health Tips, Expert Insights, and Exciting Updates!

If you live up North, I hope you and your dogs are enjoying the crisp winter air, rolling in the snow, and cozy indoor snuggles. And if you are down under or further south, beach time doesn't sound like a bad idea either!

Can you believe we're already in February? Do you have a feeling that time speeds up and we get busier as we get older?

We have been busy working on a new and exciting project to help you be the healthiest and the most empowered and knowledgeable dog lovers on the planet.

I can't wait to share more.

Before I dive in to this month's recap, I want to say thank you for making our 12 Days of Christmas in December so much fun! Seeing the enthusiasm, helping your friends to be nominated, and witnessing the love for your dogs is inspiring.

I also want to give a special shout-out to everyone who reached out about the discontinuation of JointButter and our exciting transition to JointPowder.

Your feedback has been absolutely amazing! It brings a smile to my face to hear how much JointPowder, along with our other supplements, has been helping your dogs live their best lives.

"My senior dog was struggling with stiff joints, but after starting JointPowder, she's moving like her younger self again. I can't thank you enough!"Mark R.

And now the news and tips you don't want to miss:

Liver Treat Toxicity

Are liver treats always safe? I dug deep in research and data learning that what we have been taught, and most resources claim, is not based on solid data. Click here to read more.

The Future of Spaying & Neutering

I sat down with two fantastic and progressive vets, Dr. Moira Drosdovech and Dr. Mike Lavroff to have yet another interesting conversation. They are the pioneers in performing hormone-sparing sterilizations for several years, which helps to reduce cancer, joint issues, and behavioral problems.

Enhancing Senior Dog Mobility

I also recorded a video on how to keep your senior dog strong, mobile, and pain-free. I also share my own personal experience of what I have been doing.  After all, I could be labeled "an old dog" as I just celebrated my 61st birthday 😉. I am grateful I don't feel that way. Here's what you need to know about muscle strengthening, fascia health and why they are the key to longevity.

Debunking Low-Protein Diet Myths

Speaking of muscle health. We and our dogs need high-quality protein to be strong. Did you know that at least 1g of protein per pound of body weight is essential for muscle mass and longevity? Learn why senior dogs shouldn't be on a low-protein diet.

GutSense is back in stock!

Yes, our most popular product is back, and I apologize for running out again. Can you please stop buying it?  Just kidding! Your dog's gut microbiome is not only important for healthy digestion and nutrient absorption but also for immunity. Click here.

Understanding Ovary-Sparing Spay

My dear friend, ally, and researcher, Dr. Linda Brent, who has been instrumental in helping me solve Pax's injury and why it related to him being neutered, explains why hormone-sparing sterilization, namely leaving the ovaries is the only safe way to go for female dogs.

The Dangers of Retractable Leashes

I know many of you love them, but I have decided to warn everyone again. Retractable leashes are problematic, and here's why.

We're Back on the Podcast!

I took a break last year, but am very excited to start sharing new conversations on our podcast channel again. Tune in every Thursday for fresh insights, expert interviews, and discussions on holistic pet health!

I promise I will keep sharing to keep you informed and empowered. We need to hang together, especially at times when corporations are buying up vet clinics and care more about the bottom line than health.

I believe no vets should be on an "income-based" commission.  If there is a choice between a $50 dollar solution and a $2000 procedure, do we really want to put vets on commission-based pay?

Who Should We Interview Next?

We received many great suggestions for 2025 expert interviews—thank you!  If you can think of someone you would love me to connect with, let me know. This also applies to podcasts you would like me to go on. It makes me happy to share and help wherever I can.

And that is all for today!

Thank you for being part of such a great and caring dog loving community, and give your dogs a hug for me.

PS: Can I ask you for one more thing? Forward this article to your friends. Pax and I would be very grateful!
