A happy end story about a dog diagnosed with cancer

    By Dr. Peter Dobias, DVM

Dr. Peter Dobias, DVM has 30 years of experience as a veterinarian. His love of dogs and passion for natural healing and nutrition led him to writing, teaching and helping people create health naturally, without drugs, chemicals and processed food.

I would like to share this beautiful story of one of my patients Rifki that his ‘mom’ Olena shared with us. It is a good example that even the bleakest picture can come to a happy end.

    _______________
It has been almost a year since my 12-year-old dog Rifki was diagnosed with non-curable cancer on his tongue.
As I’m writing this, my Rifki is cuddled in his sleeping spot, cute and snug, full of life, love, contentment and good health. I’m sending you my picture holding him, as a heartfelt Thank You for your knowledge, compassion, intuition, and persistence in guiding me in taking care of Rifki.
You did not feel right about his cancer diagnosis from the very beginning and kept asking me to take the biopsy sample for a second opinion. I resisted at first, but after your telling me again that the diagnosis did not feel right, I agreed to seek a second opinion. The original pathologist made a mistake and Rifki was indeed cancer free.

Thank you from all of my heart for this whole experience,  for the knowledgeable holistic veterinarian and a compassionate person that you are!

May God bless you and your gift of helping pets and their owners!

    Olena Balandina, Alberta, Canada
    ___________

Rifki’s story is only one of the many situations, where people are told that there is nothing that can be done and it is not true.

Rifki’s tongue lesion turned out to be a benign tumor called Schwannoma, which was likely a result of repeated trauma from a frisbee that Rifki loves to fetch and carry around. In addition, his low back pain, chronic allergies – paw licking, abdomen licking have all resolved within a few months on a natural raw diet and essential supplements.

To see such situations, I propose to you and I make a pact together that we will not stop searching for solutions when challenges come up and not allow others tell us that there are no better answers than chemotherapy, drugs and junky special diets. It never hurts to seek out a second opinion especially in serious situations. More often than not there are better ways to go.

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Peter Dobias, DVM
