What is the difference between synthetic and fermented vitamins?
Most people are unaware that unless marked otherwise, vitamins are made chemically from crude oil and coal. They are a mock version of food-based vitamins. It is true that synthetic vitamins may correct major problems, but the body does not process them the same as natural vitamins. They can cause stomach upset and can be easily overdosed.
With fermentation, you can even use less of a supplement and it becomes 20 times more potent. It's also gentler on the system because it's gone through a process almost like pre-digestion, so it's more easily absorbed. It makes the formulation much more effective and potent.
Is SoulFood H+ for humans and SoulFood for dogs intended for all ages?
SoulFood H+ is suitable for children 4 years and over. The FDA lists the same RDI (recommended daily intake) of vitamins and minerals for ages 4 to adult.
We recommend one capsule daily for children under 12 years of age and two capsules daily for children over 12 years.
While every age category will benefit, children and seniors are especially sensitive to the effect of nutritional deficiencies.
When it comes to dogs we follow nature’s guidelines. With the exception of when nursing, all mammals from young to seniors have the same vitamin (or diet) requirements. SoulFood is a whole food and raw formula that is good for all dog ages.
My dog doesn’t like to eat vegetables, is providing SoulFood enough for nutrition?
Our supplements are not meant to be considered "nutritionally complete and balanced" on their own and should be fed with a canine specific varied diet to ensure well rounded nutritional needs.
If your dog doesn’t like larger vegetable chunks, try chopping them up in a food processor or Vitamix. Steaming may also make some veggies more palatable, for example, broccoli, zucchini, and beets. Squash, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, or yams are usually served cooked.
We encourage trying different kinds of veggies to see what your dog enjoys most and avoid giving only a few kinds of veggies repeatedly. Remember that feeding a variety over a longer period of time is the key to a healthy, balanced diet.
