The April Giving Report
You may already know that DDHS donates monthly to organizations that help animals and impoverished children worldwide. Every time you purchase our all natural product and express your love for your dog, we can make a donation on your behalf. You and your dog are a part of this program and we thank you for making our donations possible.
This month, we have decided to send our contribution to two animal rescue organizations that offer tons of practical assistance to animals, but they also go beyond the basics in so many ways, providing the care and kindness that is essential to true health.
Here’s what you and your dog helped us do in April 2017:
El RefUgio
- On the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, there’s an extraordinary non-profit, no-kill shelter run entirely by volunteers. El RefUgio has created a home for animals that have none, and helps place them with adoptive families once they have received proper care.
El RefUgio understands the need for affection and comfort that comes from a home, even if it is just for a short stay. They also provide necessary resources like low-cost spay and neuter clinics and vaccination assistance that keep animals healthy, and education to their community so the humans can do their part.
Summit Dog Rescue
SDR takes the process of animal adoption to new heights. Located in Boulder, Colorado, this organization takes great care in matching dogs and cats with their ideal home. This sets them apart from the high volume, rushed adoptions so common to many shelters.
Their vision of patience, disciplined training and wise choices help to create loving animal homes. Check out their training resources page; it’s a wonderful learning opportunity and a chance to see that SDR holds education in high esteem.
El RefUgio and Summit Dog Rescue received our donations of $1216.00 last month. Check them out for more information!
