Hi my dog lover and health minded friend,
Often, when I meet another integrative/holistic vet, I feel like we came from the same “piece of the universe", because we are so alike.
I definitely felt like this when I sat down with my friend and colleague, Dr. Odette Suter – an integrative veterinarian, microbiome expert, ballroom dancer, and the famous "Dr. Poop Lady."
Odette and I share a very similar path. We both trained at European veterinary schools, started out obsessed with horses, and eventually found our way to North America, working with the most amazing species - dogs
Early on, she sensed that conventional medicine alone was not enough, and she followed her conviction and passion, it cost her, yet she followed her heart anyway.
Here is some of what we dive into in this episode:
- The microbiome, and why it matters so much
- Fecal transplants and why the work so well.
- The story behind the poop hat.
- How our emotions shape our dogs.
- Hormones and so called "unfixable" behaviour.
We also talked dancing, singing, childhood, and the question of whether either of us would want to be 20 again 😆. Can you guess say who said yes?
